"Beginning in 1961, ACPOC published a journal called the Inter-Clinic Information Bulletin (ICIB). In 1985, the name was changed to the Journal of the Association of Children's Prosthetic & Orthotic Clinics (JACPOC). Publication of this journal ended in 1994, and was replaced with ACPOC News.

All clinical articles from these newsletters and journals dating back to 1976 have been digitized and are available here. The years prior to 1976 will be posted as they are completed."

Joint Commission journals

7-9-07: today our online access to The Source seems to have dropped out except for June 2007-
I have written them to check on it.

1-8-07: online access is now provided by another provider. I am working to get them all reactivated and then updated on the website. We have subscriptions to Environment of Care News, Joint Commission Benchmark, Perspectives, Perspectives on Patient Safety and The Source. To reach Benchmark back through 2000; to reach Environment of Care News back through 2000; to reach Perspectives back through 2000; to reach The Source back through 2003; to reach Perspectives on Patient Safety, back through 2005 hopefully today.

Patient Safety Advisory (from Pennsylvania)

A free, comprehensive patient safety publication available online from the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority, an independent state agency charged with taking steps to reduce and eliminate medical errors by identifying problems and recommending solutions that promote patient safety. An e-mail notification service is available to alert you when new issues and resources are posted to the site. Includes scientific rigor, practical strategies and "toolkits" of additional resources.

Behavioral Medicine

5-14-07: MetaPress activation still in progress. Still asks for password instead of accepting our IP range when I try to view an article.

5-10-07: Behavioral Medicine (formerly Journal of Human Stress), from Heldref Publications. We had an institutional subscription approximately 1996 - 2004, so we are apparently eligible to have online access to it for those issues. I am investigating getting it activated.

Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research is the official journal of the Chinese Speaking Orthopaedic Society. American Journal of Orthopedics now online

1-19-07:
The American Journal of Orthopedics now offers some content online to all subscribers at

but it does require registration. I am currently working through activation problems.

BMJ archives

If you want to see an older article in the BMJ archives you need to use the "Print Issues" tab on their site.

They have plans to extend the archive back to the first issue, 1840, but currently it is available only back to 1994, and some of the older content is only in html.

JBJS American version

JBJS has just announced a service for your patients. They can get an article from JBJS American for free by going to www.JBJS.org and choosing the "patient access" option once they have located the particular PDF they desire. The article will be emailed to them.
