Child Development

8-17-05: While our actual subscription only includes about a year's worth of online access, I've just discovered that our database subscription provides free pdf full text all the way back to v.1, 1930 and no waiting a year to see current issues either! Scroll down to the bottom A-C listing for now, but I will update the webpage soon. mp

The Lancet

Although we do not receive a print subscription to The Lancet, we actually do have online access!
We get it as part of a full text database. If you go to the Web-based Journals page of the Medical Library website and scroll down in the list of titles, you will see the link.

1991-1998 is just in html format, but after that it is the nice pdf version that prints so well.

If you would like to set up an email journal alert to hear about new issues you can use the My EBSCOhost feature. Click on "Journal Alert" and you will be led to set up the account. They will not send you any bothersome email, but there you can manage the table of contents alerts you wish to receive. You can also use this feature to save searches you like to run regularly.

Journal of Pediatrics

8-10-05 agent reports : The publisher site links for The Journal of Pediatrics have been updated. All Mosby and Saunders links have been updated.

8-8-05 received report from our agent: Publisher links for the Elsevier imprints Mosby, Hanley & Belfus, and WB Saunders require users to navigate to new journal homepages. EJS is working with Elsevier to update the links and apologizes for any inconvenience.

"Archiv Orthop"

(We do not offer "free" online access to these titles, but articles can be obtained for you if needed.)

This is a tricky abbreviation. It can stand for a German, Italian or American title! Plus the voluming is similar in some older years.

Scandinavian journals

Today I discovered that there is a 12 month "embargo" on some of the Scandinavian journals we access through the A-Z listings at the bottom of the Web-based Journals link. That means we can get them in full text online after 12 months. I'll be updating that information on the website soon.

Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery

Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery online content is delayed through our direct link, but you can still get to it by clicking through to the publisher site. There they have more recent issues posted.

New England Journal of Medicine

Our subscription does not include current online access. However, after 6 months full text of Original and Special Articles is available online. Also, articles in the most current issue often make the news before print subscribers even receive their issues. If you need an article, please contact the librarian.

J Hand Surgery - British

Journal of Hand Surgery, the British version, is now available to us online for a rolling 12 months. That means when the new issue is available, the 13th issue drops off online access. I'll add it next time I update the website, but for now you can reach it here:
