Joint Commission Perspectives
9-22-05 Website has been updated. You can now access this through the library's web-based journals page.
8/18/05 -- 11:30 -- current link no longer gives us immediate access. Started process of updating institutional registration.
1:30 -- Had to write both Joint Commission and IngentaConnect because 2000-2002 is at the JC headquarters, while the 2003- issues are through IngentaConnect.
8-31-05 Joint Commission Perspectives -- but passwords not yet permitting free access
http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/jcaho/jcp
9-22-05 access now available at above link from 2003- but not on the EJS site. Wrote agent to work on that problem. Not currently able to add a user note to the Quick List though.

Child Development
8-17-05: While our actual subscription only includes about a year's worth of online access, I've just discovered that our database subscription provides free pdf full text all the way back to v.1, 1930 and no waiting a year to see current issues either! Scroll down to the bottom A-C listing for now, but I will update the webpage soon. mp

The Lancet
Although we do not receive a print subscription to The Lancet, we actually do have online access!
We get it as part of a full text database. If you go to the Web-based Journals page of the Medical Library website and scroll down in the list of titles, you will see the link.
http://tsrhkids/mlibrary/web-based.htm
1991-1998 is just in html format, but after that it is the nice pdf version that prints so well.
If you would like to set up an email journal alert to hear about new issues you can use the My EBSCOhost feature. Click on "Journal Alert" and you will be led to set up the account. They will not send you any bothersome email, but there you can manage the table of contents alerts you wish to receive. You can also use this feature to save searches you like to run regularly.

"Archiv Orthop"
(We do not offer "free" online access to these titles, but articles can be obtained for you if needed.)
This is a tricky abbreviation. It can stand for a German, Italian or American title! Plus the voluming is similar in some older years.
German and English-language: (Note from rep at Springer, the company that now handles full text content for the English and German title) "The current title of 'Archiv fur Orthopadische und Unfall-chirurgie' is : Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery (Historical Archive) http://www.springerlink.com/openurl.asp?genre=journal&issn=0936-8051&target=archive and under the historical archive of this current title the content of the predecessors of this journal can be found. This current journal had the following predecessors:- Archives of orthopaedic and traumatic surgery- Archiv für orthopädische und Unfall-Chirurgie- Archiv für Orthopädie, Mechanotherapie und UnfallchirurgieIf you have a historic article you are looking for you can find it via the search engine. In future also the former journal titles will be searchable. Currently all tables of content and abstract of the historic content that is already available can be viewed." ISSN 0003-9330
Italian: the title is Archivio di Ortopedia ISSN 0004-0118

Scandinavian journals
Today I discovered that there is a 12 month "embargo" on some of the Scandinavian journals we access through the A-Z listings at the bottom of the Web-based Journals link. That means we can get them in full text online after 12 months. I'll be updating that information on the website soon.

New England Journal of Medicine
Our subscription does not include current online access. However, after 6 months full text of Original and Special Articles is available online. Also, articles in the most current issue often make the news before print subscribers even receive their issues. If you need an article, please contact the librarian.
