APA new 6th edition -- helpful resources

The Alvin Sherman Library has been working on an APA (6th ed.) page with a number of How Do I Cite? videos: -- http://www.nova.edu/library/dils/lessons/apa/index.htm
(This is the main page with all the links.)

I should mention that this is still a work in progress, but we wanted to post it in time for the new
semester. These APA modules are generic rather than program specific so they
may also be useful in your institutions.

We have some general overview videos. They can also be helpful for students
who have trouble with just the basics and have trouble remembering to just
put a period after the parentheses enclosing the date of publication and
need visuals.

. Citing Sources (20-page handout) --

. Assignments (5 min. 45 sec.) -- Title page, formatting of paper,
headings, reference page

. Text Citations (11 min.) -- Discussion of text citations, quotations,
paraphrasing, and plagiarism

. Article Citations (4 min. 15 sec.)

. Book Citations (4 min.)

Especially for doctoral students who have more specialized needs, we also
have specialized videos for questions about how to handle various scenarios.
The reference components may be helpful because each module looks in depth
at one specific element of the citation (authors/editors, date of
publication, titles, publication information, and electronic sources). For
example, the module on authors/editors look at formatting author information
in the text and reference citations for one author, two authors, six
authors, eight authors (with ellipses), no author, corporate authors,
anonymous, editors, compound initials, and suffixes like Jr. and III. (See
